Aerosols and Pressurised Cylinders

The components of aerosols can achieve 100% R Code Status

Waste aerosols in commercial quantities must be recycled or disposed of at a suitably permitted facility. Due to the risk for explosion, aerosols and pressurised cylinders pose challenges for segregation and storage, but with appropriate treatment every component can be recycled or recovered. Export offers a reliable and stable alternative to the capacity available in the UK market.

At Totus, we can handle all types of spent or full aerosols and cylinders, including more problematic applications such as inhalers, expanding foams and halogenated cylinders. Our fully-permitted specialist European Recovery Facilities offer energy recovery and recycling of the propellants, liquids and metals present in aerosols, as well as achieving R-coded recovery status. These facilities operate machinery under inert conditions to ensure the waste is handled safely, whilst simultaneously recovering valuable components.
